Top, industry leading fresh produce organization seeks a tomato sales pro to continue the very strong growth of their tomato division. This important role will maintain current accounts and develop new business. Strong relationships with retail grocery chains and/or foodservice organizations (such as multi-unit companies) preferred.
This important sales role will:
Sell to retail food stores, club stores, mass merchandisers, produce wholesalers, and food service accounts
Work closely with active customers as well as prospective customers
Build, develop and maintain relationships with customers
Investigate and resolve all customer issues such as delivery, quality, and quantity
Negotiate prices and prepare sales contracts
Coordinate date of delivery to customers
Prepare reports of business transactions
Attend trade events as required
Degree preferred or a combination of education and work experience
Minimum of ten+ years’ experience in a sales position, either inside or outside, in the agricultural/produce industry
Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
Spanish speaking skills a plus
Must possess excellent customer service skills, demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations along with the ability to negotiate terms of sales orders.
May require travel on occasion (up to 10%).
Position is based in the greater Santa Barbara / Ventura region.
