West Coast Branch Manager – California

The role of the Branch Manager is to oversee the agribusiness operations at the branch locations, including management of personnel, operational oversight, and financial results. The Branch Manager will coordinate all support resources for the branch to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, credit and other policies and will be key in developing and implementing programs to establish as a leading provider of agronomic products.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the agriculture business with demonstrated track record in sales and marketing or retail branch management
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture or Business- related field is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Detail and accuracy orientation with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Management oversight of the branch
  • Responsible for managing agribusiness operations, including but not limited to management of personnel, operational oversight and financial results
  • Estimate 60% of time will be spent performing sales duties with key grower customers
  • Coordinate all support resources for the branch to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, credit and other policies
  • Develop and implement programs to establish the company as a leading provider of agronomic products
  • Identify key grower customers, understand their business, determine their needs and develop plans and actions to meet needs with appropriate sales solutions
  • Communicate with Area Manager on initiatives, objectives, strategies, and action plans
  • Utilize Operations support resources including fertilizer, value added nutrition, branded products, seed and PPP purchasing to maximize sales opportunities with grower customers
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, analysis and communication of the financial performance objectives for the branch
  • Responsible for following credit policies and managing risk for the company
  • Identify and communicate growth opportunities through new market development
  • Develop an annual business plan that optimizes growth and profitability for the branch
  • Utilize the Variable Incentive Program to establish measurable and challenging goals for sales and branch personnel
  • Implement marketing and sales plans, establish and meet sales goals, and network with suppliers and industry representatives to expand market opportunities
