A well-established food manufacturer is searching for a Director of Continuous Improvement to join their team. The Director of Continuous Improvement will lead all facets associated with driving continuous improvement; Implement TMS or similar program, identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and supply chain processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction. The Director will work with the executive management team and the operations team leaders to create and implement a strategy across our facilities. This role is accountable for measuring and providing updates to the leadership of the company on the implementation of the strategy and the impact of our Continuous Improvement performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all work processes support and are aligned with Safety initiatives throughout the network while continuing to optimize the network.
Identify all potential solutions (including pilot projects), prioritize the solutions, develop full scale implementation plans, confirm attainment of the project goals, drive it home.
Perform both tactical and strategic work to reduce / eliminate supply chain constraints at both the supplier, facility and value stream level, working and collaborating with a cross-functional team of personnel and manage communication up and down the organization all while utilizing automation to maximize the Supply Chain.
Define requirements for operations and ensures the implementation of Continuous Improvement strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed business requirements & customer expectations.
Apply broad knowledge to act as a key contributor on complex or critical assignments to ensure financial accountability according to scope and progression.
Ensures developmentally productive environment for all Team Members and act as an advisor/coach to mentor other team
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management or other engineering discipline preferred; or equivalent experience
8-10 years demonstrable experience of leading a team and process improvement initiatives across operational and business management settings in any industry
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Hands-on experience and demonstrated financial and operational impact through implementation of a variety of CI/LSS tools to drive Lean Conversion. Tools include 5S, Standard Work, Visual/Daily Management, Problem Solving Process, Kaizen facilitation, VSM, and Business Plan Deployment
Demonstrated ability to communicate to all levels of the organization from hourly to
Demonstrated ability to formulate strategy and gain buy-in from executive management
Experience must include implementing and managing systems on a corporate, divisional, or regional level with at least 5 years in a management or leadership capacity
Experience managing Continuous Improvement across multiple locations
