Director of Operations – Southeast

A well-established grower/shipper/packer is searching for a Director of Operations to join their team. The Director of Operations will be is responsible for overseeing the operations and assist local management for all related operations.
Maintain up to date records with respect to inventory for the crop in the field and storage.
Help the local farm managers with land procurement that matches crop production plans including variety selection, tillage, irrigation, fertilizer and crop protection decisions.
Assist the local farm managers with monitoring input purchases including fertilizer, chemicals, equipment etc.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including food safety, worker safety and certification of Global Gap compliance.
Assist with evaluating and determining equipment needs and the time requirements for equipment at each production location.
Make certain all field records are kept up to date per the appropriate SOP and in Land DB or the appropriate recordkeeping vehicle.
Assist farm managers with creating/completing harvest on autopilot programs for sweet potato harvest.
Work with the farm manager to develop personnel plans with a balance of regular, full time and seasonal personnel, including coordination of H2A labor.
Business Unit Management skills:
Design and implement sound business strategy for all production, storage, packing and sales for all supply chains including fresh, processing, export and any other use.
Implement and assume responsibility for any appropriate related KPI’s.
Create an annual production plan for all crop growing locations that encompasses all planting, growing and harvest time activities.
Assume responsibility for the ultimate annual profitability of the entire business unit.
Assist with developing preseason budgets for all operations (storage, packing, labor, etc) and ensure all bookkeeping is current by monitoring on an ongoing basis.
Participate in the group manager/director meetings, conference calls, etc.
Lead special projects related to growing locations, i.e. building plans and
