An industry leading agriculture company is seeking a Director of Production Planning & Scheduling to join their team. This position will be responsible to develop plans and scheduling production work, taking into account manpower, materials availability and other capacity restrictions, and cost so as to achieve proper quality and quantity at the time it is needed and then following up the schedule to see that the plan is carried out

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSinclude the following and other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Defines and implements Company production plan and strategies.
  • Develops production goals and schedules and distributes production tasks/workload to post-harvest areas.
  • Manages production planning activities to maximize the use of Company’s resources and meet established production specifications and schedules.
  • Measure production outputs and re-schedule production as required.
  • Leads and direct the work of others.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • May give input into developing the budget.
  • Resolve escalated issues arising from post-harvest operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Set actions and decision taken during production to regulate output and obtain reasonable assurance that the volume and customer specifications will be met
  • Analyze and prepare post-harvest production orders.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

B.S. degree; or advanced degree- preferred

Minimum 7 to 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in top-level management capacities within a small to mid-size agriculture company.

Ability to travel to multi-sight locations by air travel and vehicle as much as twice a month

More than 3 years’ experience in fresh flower arrangement/bouquet business

Familiar with problem Solving techniques

Familiar with production reports and KPI’s

Proficient in Microsoft programs ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
