A well-established international grower/shipper is searching for a Director of Supply Chain to join their team. The Director of Supply Chain will direct and oversee global procurement functions. Performs a variety of tasks and interacts with multiple departments and provides superior procurement processes, procedures and enhanced cost effectiveness. The position must have an acute understanding in a variety of procurement concepts, practices and procedures; extensive experience and knowledge which enable the management and leadership of department goals; and must have a wide degree of creativity and entrepreneurs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and implement procurement strategies across organization
Develop long term leading practices to manage key commodities
Lead negotiation efforts, purchase agreements, vendor contracts that result in better quality service and cost containment
Responsible for continuing programs exploration for new materials suppliers and processes.
Work closely with other business functions, such as IE, IT and AP, to identify and drive total costs opportunities.
Lead and direct supply chain department personnel in duties and responsibilities
Coach and develop personnel to achieve department and job plan goals
Oversee growth and development of global supply chain department
Exceptional knowledge of purchasing concepts, practices and procedures.
Strong negotiating skills
Manage and coordinate special projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in an office environment as an executive/departmental assistant.
Fluency in English required and Spanish preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor
Ability to maintain calm and professional attitude under pressure or shifting priorities in a fast-paced organization
Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation
Demonstrated ability to use sound and accurate judgment and to apply experience to resolve non-routine problems independently and/or to seek direction from supervisor
Conflict management and negotiation skills.
Proficient using standard office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
Very high level of organizational and time management skills
Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
