An innovative solar company seeks a salesperson to share the value and energy savings they can bring to farmers and growers throughout the Central Valley.  They have a consultative approach that identifies many ways growers can gain tremendous cost savings not only through solar energy use but water efficiency as well.

By partnering with Fresno State’s WET Center and irrigation products companies, this organization has enabled growers to move away from traditional energy and water use with considerable cost savings.

The position is home based, ideally in the Central Valley near the Fresno or Bakersfield regions.

Looking for candidates with strong grower relations, sales development, and territory management experience.  Aptitudes in finance and/or water irrigation desired.  Having a solar background is preferred, but not required.  This company will provide training on the solar components.  There can be additional growth opportunities for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Energy Advisor drives sales development in the small to mid-size California agriculture market
  • Manage a sales development pipeline for turnkey sales and service offering
  • Offer sale or lease of solar power systems and on-farm energy management, consulting services and project finance solutions
  • Prospect for leads, manage assigned sales leads, qualify prospects, present on-farm energy solutions and close sales transactions
  • Execute SPIN selling techniques and consulting selling philosophies with prospective agricultural customers
  • Assist company staff with business development partnerships and channel marketing programs
  • Present at group events/workshops/seminars providing valuable and relevant content
  • Attend company sponsored events and non-sponsored events; join industry network groups
  • Input all customer owned leads, sales data and customer content into company CRM, sales tools, etc.
  • Generate weekly and lead generation and sales reports
  • Manage company sales proposal tools, kWh and water per AF conversion table spreadsheets as needed
  • Collaborate with management on all project finance needs
  • Travel to sales appointments or marketing events as needed in assigned territory
  • Consistently maintain a “Team Player” attitude yet remain autonomous in position
