The Mexico Operation’s General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the growing operations to ensure the entities both short and long term success.  Key areas of responsibility include; operations (planting, harvesting, shipping), profitability (including inventory management, cost controls and capital investments), human resources (hiring, training, staffing, etc.) and government compliance (payroll, export / import compliance, etc).  The position will also work closely with the CFO, Director of Human Resources and Director of Information Systems to support the short and long term objectives of company.   The individual in this position must be of high ethical standards and have the ability to lead/drive the long term growth of the operation while meeting short term objectives.

Job Duties:

  1. Execute, manage and adjust planting and propagation programs to ensure adequate the timely supply of flowers at the appropriate quality and lowest cost possible.  Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, payroll, and invoices and purchasing.
  2. Works with Sales and executive management to achieve sales targets, while maximizing profitability.   Based on approved sales projection determines crop acreage allocations.  Negotiates the leasing of additional acreage as required.
  3. Ensure human resource processes and management structure is in place to develop, train and supervise team members in efficient and safe manner.
  4. Ensures long range and daily schedules result in the most efficient crewing necessary to complete work on a costs effective basis.
  5. Ensures processes, procedures and training is in place to maximize crop recovery rate and sell through.
  6. Ensure all products is shipped on time and to specifications, include cold chain compliance.
  7. Ensure appropriate internal controls including but not limited to; ensuring  all product sold is billed, materials purchased are appropriate authorized and paid for, payroll is correctly issued, etc.
  8. Ensures that the farm has appropriate equipment to effectively manage production.   Request and justify equipment purchases with corporate U.S. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and is in safe operating condition.
  9. As needed liaises with local, regional and federal agencies to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  10. Ensures a clean and safe working environment.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by company management.



A minimum of ten years’ experience with general management of farming operations (preferable row crop) with strong ethics and self-motivation.

Proven ability to lead diverse groups as well as work as part of a cross-function team.

Evidence of the ability to work both at a strategic (long term level) while still being able to achieve short term production and profitability goals.

Experience in working work with multiple government agencies.

Great computer, presentation and communication skills.

Bilingual English-Spanish: Capable to sustain a business conversation with non-Spanish speakers.

Valid International Passport and B1-B2 Visa for USA.

Able to travel as required.
