An industry leading food manufacturer is in need of a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing all plant equipment. Schedule mechanics for time and shift preference responsibilities in accordance with Production requirements, capital projects and yearly plant maintenance schedules. Will administer and enforce company policies related to Safety and G.M.P.’s. This opportunity is based in the Visalia area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs workers engaged in performing repairs to filler, seamier, and associated canning equipment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces Safety and Good Manufacturing Policies.
  • Implementation of established safety training program with weekly meetings of designated mechanics.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Schedules and supervises work to achieve readiness of equipment to meet Production requirements.
  • Schedules mechanics for time and shift, on a daily basis.
  • Develop, write, and submit capital and economic return projects. Manage projects from start to finish. Includes developing bid packages, negotiating contracts and following the Company’s procurement procedures.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications and standards.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess prior working experience (minimum 3 years) within a food manufacturing setting or comparable industry.

Prior experience with a CMMS or PM tracking systems preferred.

Experience leading or supervising maintenance department required.

Prior assisting experience with formulating and executing capital improvement projects preferred.
