PERISHABLE OPERATIONS MANAGER – East

Strong, growing company seeking Perishable Operations Manager to lead perishable distribution facility. This position will be involved in loss prevention/safety, asset protection, adhering to food safety, sanitation and quality standards for stored products.
Manage regional perishable product QC operations to ensure accuracy on all receiving and shipping functions. Ensure that QC team-members adhere to all company procedures. Ensure product meets contract and USDA grade specifications. Notify USDA when third-party inspection is needed.
Ensure all inventory and receiving discrepancies are corrected prior to shipment, determine reasons for exceptions and implement required controls to limit shipment errors.
Act as a liaison between third-party consolidator management and company management in merchandising, transportation, inventory control and the selling clubs to resolve all issues.
Manage budget formulation and execution, and propose changes to decrease labor costs and increase efficiencies.
Provide guidance and communication to all team members to maintain a positive work environment.
Hire, train and develop positive receiving team to ensure 100% quality review
Minimum education: Associate Degree in Business Management or equivalent
Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent
Minimum experience: 2-4 years management experience in a warehouse or food distribution environment
Preferred education: 5-7 years management experience in a warehouse or food distribution environment
Strong experience with Perishables, Meat, Frozen, Produce
