Regional Agronomy Manager – Southeast

A well-established grower/shipper/packer is searching for a Regional Agronomy Manager to join their team. The Regional Agronomy Manager will ensure that high yielding, top quality crops are produced and delivered to our client’s customers through the management of innovative and sound agronomic practices. The role of the Regional Manager is to lead, execute strategies and provide technical expertise in the area as directed by the Leadership team.
Assist agronomy and sales teams to develop and maintain Plant/Harvest schedule.
Coordinate pre-season crop planning with the farm teams in the region.
Work with sales and farm teams to assure quality control through proper decisions relating to agronomy, harvest timing and follow through.
Responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the execution of agronomic plans for farms in region.
Visit farms to evaluate crop production status, test plots and plan execution with farm teams.
Collect and summarize key learnings for the crop year.
Provide technical leadership and support for the Farm Managers and Agronomists in region.
Develop SOPs with agronomy team as necessary for systems based enterprise.
Develop and support agronomy training systems and programs with agronomy team.
Develop a more robust agronomic plan for potato production and other crops.
Oversight of agronomic research and variety development in region.
Provide interpretation of research data to improve production at all farms.
Work with sales and customers to understand variety/seed requirements in region.
Minimum education requirements include B.S. degree in Crop/Plant Science and a M.S. degree in plant pathology, plant nutrition, and/or other plant science discipline
Experience with Potato and/or produce related agronomic practices preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications, licenses, and permits
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and crop databases
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development
Ability and willingness to participate in required training and educational updates to stay cu Must be willing to travel 25%
