Several Produce Buyer Opportunities in the South and Western United States

These positions will support the Senior Buyer in all relevant areas of business in the following areas: customer service, facilitation of orders and product distributions, vendor purchase orders, retail item and price management, business report development and analysis, and vendor relations.
Manage inventory count sheets to assure accuracy
Manage weekly availability guides to facilitate ordering
Assist in vendor and new item set up and maintenance processes
Assist with all weekly regular and promotional merchandising communication tactics
Primary customer service, assisting in resolving department issues for orders, invoicing, missing product investigation, and local supplier support
Primary customer contact person for allocation of products, inventory control support, vendor delivery schedule supervision, communication and recover of rejected product, etc.
Weekly procurement and purchase order writing for every day, promotional needs.
Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files for quantity and cost accuracy
Utilize system tools to provide consistent reporting on every day, promotional programs
Assist the Category Manager with analyzing progress against department’s objectives and initiatives
Provide relevant historical sales data to make informed decisions about the department and how to maximize profitability with direction from the Category Manager
Work directly with suppliers to facilitate collection of item, cost, and delivery information
Prepare easy to read and understandable files for the Category Manager
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
3+ years experience in produce buying
Bachelor Degree preferred; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
