An industry leading floral grower/shipper is seeking a dynamic VP of Sales & Marketing to join their team. The successful incumbent will create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that successfully achieve business company objectives. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for planning and executing sales, marketing and product development programs that will meet pre-determined targets and increase Company market penetration and profitability.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor competitors’ products, including relevant sales and marketing data
Develop an operating budget for the sales division that meets business goals.
Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals.
Complete market research and analyze results to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major contracts.
Develop, train and mentor sales team members to develop depth, breadth and knowledge.
Cross training sales team members
Increase sales goals, volumes, revenues, profitability and venues.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred
Minimum ten years’ experience in leading a sales team
Previous experience in senior sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to executive staff and BOD members as well as to every level of the organization
Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients
Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing on critical sales contracts
Ability to travel to multi-sight locations by air travel and vehicle as required.
Meet with major clients at least once per quarter.
