An established agriculture company is seeking a field Food Safety Manager to maintain an effective Food Safety Program and oversee the Sanitation Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees Company Safety and Food Safety rules and regulations, working in a safe and legal manner. Requires all personnel to wear required PPE as needed, i.e. gloves, safety glasses or goggles, back brace, etc.
Keeps up to date on State/Federal requirements (FDA, USDA, CDHS, NOP, etc.) and pest control measures. Completes and files all required reports and documentation.
Arranges and participates in Ranch audits with both Buyers and third parties. Company-Buyer liaison.
Audits various Food Safety program elements for effectiveness, identifies issues and develops corrective action plans.
Continually performs and records all Food Safety related trainings.
Schedules and performs all food safety tests and inspections and approve payment.
Maintain Trace Back and Recall systems.
Oversee Pre-Harvest inspections and provide Buyers with their required information.
Investigates all Food Safety related crop rejections; recommends and/or coordinates corrective actions.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAACP).
Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
Assists with related special projects and performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum of two years related experience or education.

Knowledge of all aspects of agriculture procedures and positions.
Possess a valid CA Class C driver’s license and be insurable. Class A or Class B license desirable.
