Food Safety/Quality Assurance – California

Work with food technicians, production, researchers, safety and administration on performance issues, procedures, and policies to ensure consistency.
Responsible for monitoring quality control procedures.
Responsible for the correct recording and filing of records and documentation.
Ensure co-workers and workers are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
Assist with non-conformance reporting. The job will require researching root cause and reporting of corrective and preventive actions.
Help the FSQA manager with customer complaint investigations. This includes gathering information and retain samples.
Document management duties such as sending the sanitation spreadsheet, overseeing sample transmittals, and updating forms. The individual in this position may complete some document review.
Assist with some department programs and checks, such as air testing and environmental monitoring.
Participate in some cross-functional team programs, such as the Plant GMP/Internal audit and product grading.
BS in Food Science or related science degree, microbiology, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences. In addition, some additional training is beneficial, but not required, such as HACCP training and FSMA PCQI.
Self-motivated and self-managed with proven leadership skills.
Proficient in most common computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Oracle, and Acrobat.
Prior experience in food environment a plus.
Bilingual – English/Spanish is beneficial, but not required.
Must have a positive attitude.
Must be assertive and do what is right all the time.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Flexible availability; work nights and weekends during the production season
