A leading vegetable grower/shipper/packer seeks a knowledgeable lettuce and leaf commodity harvesting supervisor to oversee all lettuce harvesting for the company.  This is a key position that seeks candidates with lettuce harvesting supervisory experience; ability to use English and Spanish equally; strong data skillsets, and ability to work well with all departments, management, and company customers.

This role will spend about 5 months in Yuma, Arizona and 7 months in California’s Central Coast.  Ability to live and work in both places required, with travel to other growing areas as well.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in this area of work and/or relative education
  • Full responsibility of commodity inventory and quality
  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with Owners and Management
  • Possess and demonstrate a sound knowledge of management and ability to offer guidance and instruction to harvesting foreman
  • The ability to make independent decisions and solve issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to coordinate equipment, employees, and foremen to safely and efficiently complete daily harvest orders
  • Oversee efficiency, speed, and quality of harvest crews
  • Maintain and enforce policies and procedures
  • Maintain and enforce a safe work environment
  • Work 6 days per week
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Willingness to travel to Yuma, Arizona during winter operations
  • Ability to perform other related duties as required

  • Organic experience a plus
  • Travel to Yuma required during winter season
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Combination of education, training, and applied knowledge in Vegetable Production
