Strong, growing produce company is seeking a Product Innovation Manager that will be the technical expert that will work with customers, partners and with the sales team to identify opportunities to bring innovative solutions to the customer to drive incremental sales. Experience in produce and fresh food product development is required.
identify new opportunities for platform innovation for US customers based on consumer insights, facility capabilities, and customer needs in the areas of prepared foods, fresh cut fruit & veg, snacking, occasion-based eating and concept to execution.
Develop creative and innovative new product concepts using company ingredients and meeting customer requirements, which could be presented to existing and new customers.
Rapid turnaround of customer sample requests and documentation.
Align on project scope for customer driven product innovation with internal teams.
Manage Product Development Team, inclusive of daily oversight, workload balancing, performance evaluations, training and any additional related team management responsibilities
Safeguard Product Innovation intellectual property through the creation and maintenance of NDAs and legal agreement.
Coordinate resources and content for key US customer meetings as assigned.
Conduct research on new trends and product application ideas that could be used for our retail brand or by our customers.
Use food formulation and labeling software to analyze the nutritional content of your recipes.
Coordinate creation of draft specifications and government approval of labels.
Prepare reports on finished new product formulations including relevant information on pricing, nutritional content, marketing suggestions, competitive products etc.
Culinary Degree and/or bachelor’s degree.
5-8 years of experience in Product Innovation or R&D in produce and fresh food product development.
Leadership and people management skills. Ability to work with senior leaders internally and with customers.
Prior brand management exposure to understand execution from the retailer’s perspective.
Ability to multi-task and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a can-do attitude.
