Vice President of Operations – California

The VP, Operations will be responsible for partnering with all functions and multiple facilities within the business to develop, drive, and implement core operations management practices in alignment with the company’s values and mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coach team to drive performance culture that accommodates rapid and dynamic growth with results in operational excellence and high employee engagement.
Maintain a safe workplace onsite and in the community.
Perform Tactical Operational budgeting and maintain stable labor costs.
Mentor supervisors and managers.
Review financial statements, sales reports, activity reports, or other performance metrics to measure productivity and/or goal achievement.
Identify areas, if any, needing cost reduction or program improvement.
Direct and coordinate activities of the business or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, or distribution of products.
Direct, plan, and implement policies, objectives, and activities to ensure continuing operations, maximize returns on investments, and/or increase productivity.
Participate with senior management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, procedures, and financial operational objectives/strategies.
Collaborate with sales leaders and managers to develop and enhance customer relations and improve the consistency of delivery services.
Plan, direct and implement sales order, inventory control, logistics distribution, and equipment expenses to reduce costs while meeting company productivity and service goals.
Develop and execute standard operating budgets across distribution facilities.
Maintain a strong culture and communication between operational and sales staff.
Monitor staffing schedules for all locations to ensure service logistics expectations are met while operating at the optimal labor efficiency.
Conduct formal performance evaluation process of all operations personnel.
Conduct procedural audits of our facilities to ensure accountability and safety.
Continuously improve employee safety and health policies and procedures contributing to employee safety and well-being.
Retain and develop outstanding talent.
Must maintain a current, valid Driver’s License.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent/Strong knowledge in strategic operational planning efforts.
Ability to display a strong leadership presence.
Ability to manage/supervise individuals
Ability to multi-task.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Work)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Spanish Bilingual preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Agriculture. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience with multi-facility distribution, inventory control, and transportation logistics.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Manager or Director level role.
Proven Experience in tying Operational Efficiency Initiatives to Company Financial CAGR goals.
Proven experience in development and managing of financial statements.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Logistics, and Distribution software solutions.
Experience with Lean Principles, preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Bend, kneel, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
